Our Mission

TO KNOW GOD AND MAKE HIM KNOWN

YWAM West Michigan began in 2020 with a dream of seeing young people discipled, trained, and commissioned to reach the nations. We knew how powerful it was as a young person to be believed in and empowered to reach others for Christ. We believe that young people are uniquely positioned to make a difference for the gospel because they have significant time, energy, and the passion; they just need training and a roadmap to do it. And that’s what we do: disciple and equip young people to reach the world for Jesus.

What is YWAM?

Youth With A Mission is a global movement of Christians dedicated from many cultures, age groups, and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. Also known as YWAM (pronounced “WHY-wham”), we united in a common purpose to know God and make Him known.

YWAM’s Core Beliefs

Youth With A Mission (YWAM) affirms the Bible as the inspired and authoritative Word of God and the absolute reference point for every aspect of life and ministry. Based upon God’s Word, who He is, and His initiative of salvation through the atoning work of Jesus (His death, burial, and resurrection), the following responses are strongly emphasized in YWAM: Worship, Holiness, Witness, Prayer, Fellowship, and Service.

Campus Life

Our students and some of our staff live on campus at Kuyper College. With a beautiful chapel, sports facilities, library, and excellent facilities, you will feel right at home.

The city

While the campus is right next to a forest and apple orchard, we are just down the street from the movie theater, supermarket, coffee shops, great restaurants, a shopping center, medical facilities, a public access lake, and botanical gardens. Downtown Grand Rapids is only 10 minutes away and the Gerald R. Ford International airport is under 20. And, of course, there’s the beach at Lake Michigan.
